Devotional

Hello all!
I have started preparing for my job this summer teaching crafts to campers at Timber Ridge Camp. Part of what we will be trying to do is to integrate faith into our program. So, what I do is start each class time with a short devotional. This is the most recent one that I wrote down.

Revelation 21:3 (NLT)
"... 'Look, I am making everything new!'"


When we start out to make something our materials all look sort of boring. We start with a shapeless lump of clay, plain pieces of paper, a blank canvas, a pile of sand, or a plain t-shirt. But, after we've worked with the materials we can turn them from plain and boring into amazing masterpieces. The lump of clay turns into a beautiful sculpture, the paper becomes a joyful card, the canvas a brilliant masterpiece, the pile of sand into a sandcastle, and the plain t-shirt into walking art. If we can do all of these things with a bit of clay, paper, canvas, sand, and fabric, how much more can God do with our lives? If we will only let Him, God can make our boring, nondescript lives into living, breathing, dancing souls that rejoice in His creation. God wants nothing more than to make us into something amazingly beautiful if we will just let Him.

Well, that's my thought for the day.
