| A Pathway of Flowers |
It was Sunday, the 28th of October, and we were off. We headed to Franschoek, near Stellenbosch, about an hour from where we were in Gordon's Bay. They were having a garden show there where people who have extraordinary gardens opened them up for the general public to view. There were ten gardens. Now, I know you might think that that is no big deal. Let me tell you - its ALOT of walking. My little body was so tired by the end of that day.... You know, I love flowers, but after a while they all started looking the same. I did find my future house though (donations towards the purchase of said house are now being accepted). Sarcasm aside, it was an AMAZING house. A long, brick driveway ran in between rows of grape vines and roses. The house sat in a small grove of trees next to a bamboo forest (a small one). The pond in the back yard was circled by a leisurely path and out front was the glory of the house. Two pastures sat next to a gorgeous horse barn that obviously held top of the line horses. To top it all off, the house had a helipad, you know just in case you wanted to fly your friends in from up-country by helicopter. Needless to say, that house was the highlight of my Franschoek experience.
